In the middle of the city, an entire quarter has reopened after 150 years: the Mutterhaus der Schwestern des Erlösers comprises the neo-Romanesque Mutterhaus church, the Gothic Allendorf chapel, several gardens and a café, hidden behind high house facades, and offers an oasis of peace. The buildings were part of the so-called Domherrenhöfe, the estates of the canons of the Hochstift Würzburg.
