Mozart for everyone

Mozart? In Würzburg a festival for everyone

The Mozartfest, this is not an elitist occasion, but a platform for encounters. Here, bridges are built – into the midst of society. Music can reach everyone, is the firm conviction; participation is the crucial keyword. Every year, more than 70 concerts and events attract around 30,000 visitors to Würzburg and deliberately stage a multi-faceted program. Everyone is made to feel welcome. The sole preconditions: curiosity and receptiveness, a readiness to be enthused by music. Innovative concerts, events for families, and musical programs for people with dementia-driven changes or their carer-relatives are just as much a part of the festival’s diary as the traditional Mozarttag, which transforms Würzburg’s entire inner city into a vibrant open-air concert hall. With the M Pop-up, a temporary space for Mozart will be set up in an inner-city store, which will serve artists to experiment. Open rehearsals, concerts and discussion groups will create a place for encounters, discovery and exchange.

Mozart is coming to Würzburg - and the entire city welcomes him! The traditionel Mozarttag transforms Würzburg’s entire inner city into a vibrant open-air concert hall. Aspiring ensembles from the region celebrate with the audience in unique locations such as a department store, the town hall square and many more.

In 2021, Mozarttag will also be the finale of the "100 for 100" project: Participating citizens' actions will receive a platform and the applause they deserve.
