For everyone

Mozart? In Würzburg a festival for everyone

The Mozartfest, this is not an elitist occasion, but a platform for encounters through music. Here, bridges are built – into the midst of society. Music can reach everyone, is the firm conviction; participation is the crucial keyword.

Every year, more than 70 concerts and events attract around 30,000 visitors to Würzburg and deliberately stage a multi-facetted programme. Everyone is made to feel welcome. The sole preconditions: curiosity and receptiveness, a readiness to be enthused by music. Innovative formats, special children’s concerts and events for the whole family are just as much a part of the festival’s diary as the traditional Mozarttag, which transforms Würzburg’s entire city centre into a vibrant open-air concert hall.

The M Pop-Up is a temporary Raum für Mozart in a city-centre retail outlet. Featuring open rehearsals, concerts and informal talks, it allows artists to experiment and provides space for encounters, discovery and dialogue.

Mozart comes to Würzburg – and is given a very warm welcome. On Mozarttag, music is played in the city’s squares, lanes and churches, in its businesses, even over Würzburg’s roofs. Many stages offer space for Mozart and more. Artists and ensembles from the entire region take part in this event, turning Würzburg’s city centre into a multi-facetted open-air concert hall.
